Milk and Egg Pie

Pie is a traditional food of the Balkan countries, including Albania.

Alternatives are varied: spinach pie, onion and tomato, beans, cottage cheese, cheese, leek, or milk.

They all have their own uniqueness and all the pies are super delicious.

Milk pie ingredients
Servings: 4 or 5
3 teaspoons flour,

2 eggs

1 packet of butter or olive oil

¾ liters of milk

1 cup of starch tea

a little salt


First the pie noodles should be prepared.

Nowadays, you can also use ready-made noodles, but the best part is that you can make your own noodles.

Pour the sifted flour into a pan.

Drill a hole in the middle of it and pour water with a little salt.

Start mixing the dough from the middle, combining water with flour.

Knead the dough by hand for 8-10 minutes.

Once the dough has taken the right shape, divide it into cakes and cover with wet cheesecloth.

Let stand for 20-25 minutes.

Then open the cakes one by one, sprinkling them with a little starch.

When the noodles are open enough, bake on the stove plate.

The temperature should be medium so that the noodles do not burn.

Meanwhile stir in the milk, eggs and melted butter.

Place an unbaked noodle at the bottom of the pan.

Sprinkle with the milk mass and cover with another baked noodle.

Sprinkle all the noodles one by one with the mass of milk, eggs and butter until the pan is all full.

Finally, cover the pie with the uncooked noodles.

Coat with butter and put in the oven.

Let the pie bake for about 30-40 minutes.

After baking, remove from the oven, cut into pieces and serve.
